Connective Tissue / Myofascial Release
The techniques used in connective tissue massage and myofascial release aim to release fascial restrictions or adhesions (often caused by trauma, inflammatory response, and surgical procedures) to eliminate pain and restore motion. Due to the piezoelectric phenomenon, gentle pressure applied slowly will allow the fascia to become viscous and elongate. These techniques use little-to-no lubrication to enable a controlled and sustained pressure.
